Bombay cats originate from The United States. The breeder wanted to make a cat that looked similar to a Pather, and did so by breeding together a Burmese and American shorthair cats.
Bombay cats are medium built but very muscular. Their features are round, with a round face, round ears, round eyes and feet. They have a short and sleek solid black coat. These cats are very sociable and curious and are also active.
Bombay cats are very low maintenance in that they don’t require much grooming, it’s best to groom them at least once a week. Bombay cats tend to overeat so it’s best to have periods for feeding.
Bombays are relatively healthy but you should watch for common health issues among them, which are respiratory issues, upset stomach, pneumonia, bronchitis and asthma.
