Cheetahs are mainly found in Africa, mainly in north, east and south Africa. Cheetahs have gone extinct in 13 countries, and are endangerd in Iran. Cheetahs are good in plains where there is a lot of food. They live in many habitats ranging from savannahs to mountains.
Cheetahs are slender with long legs. Their heads are small with high-set eyes and they have semi-retractable claws. Cheetahs have small teeth compared to other big cats, but in trade they have a larger nasal passage to help breath. Cheetahs have yellow to tan fur with black spots which aren’t seen on the under belly or throat.
Cheetahs don't roar, but they do purr, bark, growl, hiss and chirp. They also make a stuttering sound to show affection.
Cheetahs hunt in the morning to the afternoon while most of the other cats hunt at night. They don’t track with smell but rather with their eyes. Because of this, to find prey they will sit at a mound until they find one. They will then begin to slowly approach them until they begin running towards them. Their sprints last for 20 seconds.
